The Australian Embassy Afghanistan operates from a number of locations that are not publicly disclosed due to security reasons.
Visa and citizenship
The Australian Embassy Afghanistan has no visa function.
If you are seeking information on citizenship by descent for your child, please consult the Department of Home Affairs website.
Online applications can be lodged via ImmiAccount.
Overseas applicants who are unable to apply online for a visa can visit immigration offices outside Australia.
If you are seeking information on which visa to apply for please see our visa finder.
Biometrics are collected from applicants applying in Afghanistan. Applicants need to attend an Australian Visa Application Centre (AVAC) in person to provide their biometrics. As there are no AVAC facilities within Afghanistan, clients applying in Afghanistan will need to make arrangements to travel to another location in order to provide biometrics.
To find information regarding other related services available in your country, such as the nearest Australian Biometric Collection Centre or panel physician, you can select a country on the immigration office locations webpage.
