Passports are not able to be dispatched and delivered to addresses in Afghanistan. Customers located in Afghanistan who want to use the digital upload function to submit their passport application are required to include a completed declaration (Form-B11) which should include:

  • the location you wish the passport to be sent to i.e. Australian Embassy, Consulate or High Commission or a Passports State Office in Australia and,
  • a nominated person to collect a passport on your behalf
  • your authorisation for the passport to be handed to your nominated contact.

Once collected, it is yours/your nominated contacts responsibility to organise the safe delivery of the passport to you.

Once your digital application is being assessed (note this may take up to 4 days), you will receive an email from [email protected] to finalise the payment authorisation.

You will also be contacted if:

  • the application is for a child
  • additional documentation is required
  • there is a problem with what you have submitted
  • you are not eligible for this service.

Once your passport has been finalised it will be despatched to the location nominated by you in the form-B11.

Please note that if your delivery address is not in Afghanistan, the new upload function will not become available at the application stage.

Please refer to the Australian Passport Office website for current processing times.
